Debra Mason, Executive Director with the Clackamas Service Center presented to our club today and what a great organization this is. The Clackamas Service Center was founded in the early 1970’s by a group of three women who recognized a need in the community. These three women pooled all of their bingo winnings, which were about $1,000, to purchase food and clothing for homeless citizens in the community. Founder, Anna Jones, is 92 years old and runs the clothing room at CSC.
The Clackamas Rotary Club helps to support CSC’s feed the hungry program two nights a month. We volunteer to serve food to those less fortunate in our community. If you wish to volunteer and serve, please reach out to CSC to see how you can help through donations, time or gifts of gently used clothing for men and/or women.
